Product Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 (Essential)
  • National Diploma in Electrical or Industrial Engineering (Essential)
  • Tech in Electrical or Industrial (Desirable)
  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office with good Excel and PowerPoint skills).
  • Project Management Diploma (Desirable)
  • 3to 5 years product development experience in the Automotive environment(Essential)
  • 2 years working experience in the use of Quality Core Tools (i.e. FMEA, control plans, APQP) (Desirable)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To prepare engineering data for new business, Facelift, Engineering change instructions or request for quotes.
  • To analyse production drawing and prepare production engineering data for implementation into production.
  • Lead the new models, face-lifts projects from concept phase to production
  • Design review with customer design team and Yazaki window person on project related issues.
  • Provide information pertaining to new processes and equipment to evaluate training needs collected to Obeya meetings.

Facilities Engineering Manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant manufacturing / engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualification
  • Completed a fully indentured apprenticeship with a mechanical/ electrical/ electronic discipline
  • 5 years’ experience in Plant Maintenance in the automotive environment (Essential)
  • 2 years` experience in management and leadership roles (Essential)
  • Experience of managing P&L responsibilities for maintenance
  • Understanding of IATF16949, IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO14001, ISO50001

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
  • Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out.
  • Increase the site operational effectiveness, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans.
  • Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures.
  • Prepare the annual Maintenance budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards. 
  • Produce written reports and make presentations.
